Here's a longshot in more of a steampunk style. Again, about 90% done and the rear butt is removed for some additional details. I'll post finished photos soon :)

thank you very much! that was a mixed batch of bronze from testors(looks like aged brass a bit, I admit) with some other earth tones added. I didn't keep track of exactly what I did, so it's kind of a bummer, but I can get the same effect more or less :)

I think it actually looks better without the stock, when I re-paint mine I think I may just take it off permanently. I have big hands and it get's in the way sometimes.

Indeed. I noticed that it didn't look to bad when you finish it off completely. I do that, despite the fact that the stock will always cover it :) Maybe now I can say it's for people with big hands! :)
