I'm glad you like it!  I enjoy just getting to customize them, but I also occasionally wish they would fit me so I could get a few photos.  Some day I'll have time to make one for myself...maybe.  lol

Would there be any way for someone to purchase one of these suits or do you not have time to make another one?

Unfortunately I'm booked far enough out that it wouldn't be fair to take a deposit at this time.   I really appreciate you asking though!

I would advise looking into the kit by Sean Bradley.  Just my personal opinion

You can find him on Facebook.  If you'd be interested in a finished suit, just let me know :)

I've found him in the mean time, but thanks a lot for the tip :) As to interest in a finished suit...Somewhat. I figure I'm capable of finishing it myself, but time is always an issue ;) Say that I do want it finished by you, what would you charge, if I may be so bold?

I'd be happy to discuss that with you, but I'd appreciate doing it by email.  I lose a lot of conversations here on dA and it really helps to have the ability to search past messages there on gmail.   No rush, of course, but if you need me I can be reached at johnsonarms76@gmail.com.   Thanks and tell Sean I said hello! ;)

I had the help of skilled builders, haha!   I get to do the part I really enjoy, which is the paintwork!   I have another suit that finished and shipped right before Halloween with a few more being worked on currently.  They're a lot more work to coordinate, but boy do the suits look cool when they're all finished :)

What material did you use for the hard armor?
Reply
:iconjohnsonarms:

mostly smoothcast and the rest was backed with fiberglass mat and resin if I recall.  I did the paintwork, so I wasn't involved in the fabrication on this one

How well can you see in with the helmet? Full sight to the sides?
And how is the breathing in such a helmet?

This had fans installed to cycle in fresh air, so there isn't any fogging (or very minimal at most).  Visibility is pretty good for the amount of window you're looking through, but the peripheral vision is a bit limited.

Do you have any blueprints of any kind (schematics, rough drawings) - I would really like to make something similar :)

Sorry, this was built custom and I don't have any of the plans.   You're likely to find them on the 405th website if they're anywhere to be had!

This thing is heavy.  I'll have new pics of the suit with the stomach piece, kneecaps and a proper turtle for your gallery in a couple days.  Love your work Brian, much appreciated!

Hey bud!  I saw that photo of all the snow, I'm glad it will give you a chance for more photos and the suit keeping you warm is a nice bonus! :)    Let me know when you have more photos and you know I'll be happy to share them on here!
